Joypur Forest – Visit this dense forest of Pal, Simul, Palash and Teak forest thriving in the Chota Nagpurhighland. The forest nurtures thousands of wild life of which herd of spotted deers is the most attractive part. Besides wild fox, elephant and wolves also thrive in this brown hills bordered with rivers and dense greenery.

Jor Bangla temple –This is a Hindu temple with great architecture of terracotta.It is on an elevated platform designed with laterite rocks.It is built in the seventeenth century. It is only half an hour distance from resort by SH 2. It is approx 14 kms.

Dalmadal gun :It is one of the most interesting sight of Bishnupur. The 3.84 metres long cannon represents the glory of Malla kings.

Gokulchand temple :Malla king Raghunath constructed this temple back in seventeenths century. This temple gives the look of a fort as surrounded by high walls. This is 64 ft high with five apex and octagonal at centre. One can reach here in 15 mins from the resort via SH2.

Other nearby tourist attractions are Mukutmonipur, Susunia mountain, Kamarpukur, Jayrambati.

Weather of Joypur

Summers are typically sun burn. Due to less gatherings and plenty open spaces weather is desperately few degrees high than Kolkata. Winters are chilly, stubborn but fun. Monsoon is always enchanting in the forest as it brings the real colour of nature.

How to reach Joypur

Joypur Forest by road: This enchanting place is convenient to go by car. It takes around 3.5 hours from Kolkata by car. It is about 125 kms via NH 19. Roads are Ahilyabai Holkar Rd/Bankura – Beliator – Sonamukhi – Khandaghosh – Nischintapur Rd/Champadanga-Dankuni Rd and SH 2.

Joypur Forest by Train: The nearest stations are Arambagh and Bishnupur. From Arambagh the place is 1 hour 15 min drive. On your request resort can arrange pick-up at a cost of INR1200. From Bishnupur the resort is at 40 mins drive. If you require resort will arrange the pickup from Bishnupur station at a cost of INR500.

সস্ত্রীক দিন দুয়েকের জন্য ঘুরে এলাম এই ফরেস্ট রিসোর্ট থেকে । মাটি থেকে বেশ খানিকটা উঁচুতে করা কাঠের কটেজগুলো অতীব সুন্দর । তবে অত্যাধুনিক সমস্ত ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে । একেবারে গ্রামীণ পরিবেশ তুলে আনা হয়েছে । কর্মচারীদের ব্যবহার শুধু সুন্দর নয় কোথাও একটা আন্তরিকতার ছোঁয়াও রয়েছে । সাইটসিন করতে চাইলেও ভালো গাড়ির ব্যবস্থা করে দেন । তবে একটাই সমস্যা খাবারের বৈচিত্রের অভাব । একঘেয়ে দেশি মুরগির বাইরে আর কিছু নেই । এই ব্যাপারটা একটু নজর দেওয়া দরকার ।

One of the worst experience ever. Stayed on 30th August and I regret every part of it.
Rooms Quality — Pathetic , esp. the doubled bedded rooms, had to shift to a four bedded room. Bathroom was not clean, does not have a wash basin inside the room/bathroom. Towels were old and looked dirty. Bedsheets everything was dirty.
Food : The less said about the food the better. Had a dinner of roti and chicken, the less said the better. Even roadside jhupri offer better food. A paneer order tasted like paneer fried and dipped into chicken gravy.
Breakfast was equally horrible, tea offered in paper cups and bread and butter, Oh my god, Butter will leave your lips glossy, bread not toasted and Friend eggs dripping of Oil.
Ambience — Non existence, just 5-6 cottages looking good from outside but its not a resort by any stretch of imagination.
Nomadic should please do a quality check before luring customers with good looking pics.
Definitely not recommended.
