Visit Jhargram Royal Place built by Man Singh in 1574 A.D to get a historical idea about the origin of Jhargram. Take a prior permit to entre the palace.
Visit another historical spot of Chilkigarh palace with Durga mandir, approximately 12 km from Jhargram. The Durga mandir is almost 500 years old. This place is situated on the border of Jharkhand and West Bengal.
Visit the bird sanctuary called Kendua. It is just 9kms away. It is a perfect place for all bird lovers. Local people call Kendua medicinal plant garden.
Jhargram has a mini zoo with different wild animals like snakes, bears, black rabbits, crocodiles, monkeys and deer. The zoo remains closed on Thursdays.
If you are fond of palaces and historical aspects of a place, then Chilkigarh is your place to be. Apart from ancient forts, there are ancient temples as old as 300 years also present here. You can also visit Dulung riverside just beside this place.

Best time to visit
Jhargram can be visited throughout the year but best time is around October when the weather is neither much scorching nor very cold. You can avoid the summer times because of excessive heat. If you are a green lover monsoon will soothe your eyes and senses. Jharagram is full of tall trees. You can hear the driping of rain from the trees. While winter will give you a misty feeling.

Train: Trains are available from Howrah station to Jhargram station (157 km). the travel duration is approximately 3 hours.
Road: Very well maintained roads are available from Kolkata to Jhargram. If you really want to enjoy scenic beauty on the way then road should be the best option of travel.
