Mim Tea Homestay is in Lorebunglow, Sukiapokhri located a place called Mim tea garden. It is located in the district of Darjeeling of West Bengal state. Mim tea garden is located 12 km away from the Tiger hill. The garden was once managed and looked by a British lady who was known as mem. From the word ‘Mem’ mim was derived. The elevation of the garden is almost 5000 ft above from sea level. One of the most popular teas are from first flush and Oolongs. The rarest white tea of this garden is also very famous and known. The nearest town is Sukhia Pokhri which is just 4 kms from the tea garden.

The homestay is located in the middle of the garden with a terrace with a beautiful view. It provides 24hrs of room service. The place is free from all the hustle and bustle of the city. Car parking is also available. Special smoking room is available for the one who wish to smoke. They have a separate bathroom facility which consist of slippers, bathrobe, towel etc.

Accommodation- Rooms available are of four types. Single and double room for bachelors and couples. Deluxe bed room and family rooms are available for more members. Deluxe rooms have dinning area and electric kettle separately. Food served is warm and of great quality. All staffs were friendly and helpful. There is view of Kanchenjunga from the window. Laundry facility is also available.

Outdoor Activities

Activities like walking tour, sight-seeing is very common nearby. Walking along the sides of river and tea garden gives peace to the busy mind and soul. Tibetan Buddhist monastery located 8km away from homestay is a great tourist spot. Ghoom Monastery which is 8km away is famous for its 15feet high statue of Buddha. The view of Darjeeling landscape and Kanchenjunga can be spotted from the top of pagoda. The Japanese peace pagoda is 9km away.

Nearby attractions

Lepchajagat a small village known for its natural view and sight-seeing. One can spend the whole day walking around the village. A town called Mirik which is 30 km away Famous for boating in lake.

Darjeeling town located 15 km from Lepchajagat. So you can easily stay in this sweet little dreamy place and visit all the prime attractions of Darjeeling town. The nearest town from Mim tea estate is Sukipokari just 4 km away. The town consist of pine, oak, chestnut tree. There is also a shiv temple popular for tourist accommodation. This place offers very peaceful and beautiful view of mountains and valleys around. Pashupati. The Indo Nepal border just 15 km away from Lapchajagat. The place is a busy spot for tourist who loves shopping. Vehicles are not allowed inside only local cabs can be hire.

New Jalpaiguri is the nearest railway station of Mim Tea Garden which is just 3 hrs away. The nearest airport is Bagdogra which is 48km away. Regular buses and private cars are available from Darjeeling. From the Westbound road mim estate is 13 km away by road.

Best time to visit

Spring time is the time to pick first flush tea. Mim tea garden produces good quality first-flush tea. So if you are interested in watching tea picking the best time is early February to April end. From the month of April to June when plains are gasping with scorching sun overhead visit Mim Tea Garden for a pleasant weather. During winters October and December the temperature is nearly 10 degree lower than Kolkata. Monsoon on the other hand may lock you at the homestay but watching rain bathed green tea garden with a cup of tea may proof better than any spa or ayurvedic therapy. As such this place is an excellent option to visit throughout the year.
