Hills provides you with the options of lots of outdoor activities which includes
White water rafting or canoeing in the Teesta or Rangeet river. One has to spare a day for it and drive down to Teesta Bazar. It is not advisable to take the sports during the monsoon.

How to reach
Situated around 32kms from Darjeeling, one may reach the nearest station NJP one may take a car ride for around 3-4 hours to reach this place. However, you can take reserved as well as shared taxis from Bagdogra, NJP, Siliguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong. Buses are also available from Darjeeling to Takdah.

Tinchuley is heavenly and you can visit the place throughout the year. Hills are always welcoming in summer.
The monsoon may not be a suitable time if one tries for adventure else it is a superb time to enjoy the Himalayan flora and fauna.
The autumn with its holidays and pleasant weather is a nice time to visit this place. Winter requires heavy woolen garments to welcome the cool wind whispering amidst the tall pine trees.
Spring is an excellent time to see blossom. Rhododendron, Magnolia, Tulip, Orchids spatter the hill with magical color in March April.
