The Queen of the hills, Darjeeling is in the state of West Bengal, and it is approximately 500 km away from Delhi, one of the most important cities and the capital city of India. From the bank of the river Yamuna to the Teesta River, there are several ways which are as follows:<\/p>\n

Delhi to Darjeeling: Through Air<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There is no airport in proper Darjeeling. The nearest airport is in Bagdogra (Airport code: IXB), which is 67.5 km from Darjeeling, and it takes around 3 hours to reach by car from the airport. There are a number of flights that connect Bagdogra to Delhi, as it received the status of a major airport recently.<\/p>\n

The average fare ranges between INR 4800 to INR 5700 per person, and a direct flight takes around 2 hour and 5 minutes to reach the airport. For an approximate idea of the fare and timing, the important flight details are given below, after 3 months from the date of booking.<\/p>\n

Delhi to Darjeeling: Through Train<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There is no major rail-station in Darjeeling with direct rail connectivity with Delhi. However, you can take a train to New Jalpaiguri, which is a major station, and then take a car to reach Darjeeling in 4-5 hours. You can see the beautiful mountains and forest along the way with tea gardens.<\/p>\n

If you want a very unique experience and have time, opt for the Darjeeling-Himalayan railway that is the UNESCO-World heritage site from New Jalpaiguri Jn. to Darjeeling (Starts at 08:30 from NJP station and reached Darjeeling at 15:35 every day.)<\/p>\n

These two places are very far in term of road distance and it takes a lot of time. If you really want to try for this great road trip, it would take around 26 hours by car and approx. 1500 km distance. For this route, you can take a break for the nights in Lucknow, Patna and New Jalpaiguri on the way.<\/p>\n
