How to Reach Barsey

By Air:The nearest airport is Bagdogra at Siliguri. After landing, you can take rented cars or taxi to reach Barsey. It will take around 5 and a half hours to reach.

By Train: Nearest railway station where passengers can get down is New Jalpaiguri railway station. Trains are coming from all metro cities and Gauhati, all the trains give a stop at New Jalpaiguri Station. After getting down, you can take a prepaid taxi or rented car. It will take 5 hours approximately to reach Barney.

By Road: You can drive your own car or prepaid taxi and rented cars also available. Time will remain the same as more than 5 hours.

Sightseeing Surrounding The Jungle Camp

All jungle areas are protected and communities who are living there are living for generations.

They use natural resources which are their tradition also. They are still not aware of urbanization and commercialization and wanted to use that natural resource for their livelihood.

So the jungle camps are made with the help of them. Barsey Rhodendron sanctuary is a famous sanctuary situated in the Singalila range in west part of Sikkim.

During March and April Rhodendron sanctuary is the best place to visit if you are trekker.

You can do trekking also. You can find fauna’s likeTibetan sarin, spotted laughing thrush and Red Panda.

Also, you can enter from Hilley,This is the most popular trekking spot.

You can also take a rented car and visit Pelling. It is in the western district. You can view the peaks of Kanchenjunga from there. The major hot spot for tourist is the Pemayanste monastery. You can go rock climbing, a tour to the remote villages of Sikkim and mountain biking. You can enjoy local authentic foods prepared by the inhabitants of that place.

The monastery is three storied building and is located within a few kilometres from Pelling. Yoksom is another spot in West Sikkim which is also a trekking spot. It is located very nearer to the base camp of Mount Kanchenjunga.

Best Time to Visit the Place, Betsey

To Barsey means to visit them in the shadow of Mount Kanchendzonga. The bliss of nature, where flowers blossoms and as per belief it is at the benevolent gaze of the sleeping Buddha. From November to May you can have clear skies and a pleasant and chilled winter but still, the best time to visit the place is March to May. Due to huge rainfall landslides cause huge stuck of vehicles on the road and people find it very difficult to move. Very hard time for the tourists. To avoid rain time. Some flowers are dangerous in the forest to avoid to touch them. You can trek down 11 km to Dental and can visit another famous tourist spot Pelling.
