How to Get There

The nearest airport is Bagdogra which is situated at a distance of 96 kilometers from the resort. From NJP, the closest railways station, the journey of 86 kilometers can be covered in about 5 hours by car. The cars are available on hire from both the airport and the railway station. The nearest town to the resort is Lava, about 25 kilometers away.

The journey is definitely a little bumpy in view of the poor road condition on the last lap. Nevertheless, the panoramic view of the tall coniferous trees is definitely worth the pain.

  1. Charkhol kanchen resort one of the best property. we just visited last month..

  2. I have visited here…place is very very very nice..but perfect for group…
    Which I don’t like:
There was no variety of foods but very tasty
Room was terribly cold(though breath taking view I must say)
    no room heater
    Gyser was not working properly
no TV at room(getting boar like anything)
No inter connection with the reception from the room..This is absolutely not acceptable al all..if something went wrong no way to connect them as phone signal absolutely poor…no network

  3. Charkhole is a small village in Darjeeling district with the height of 5000 feet & 22kms from Kalimpong. Me & my wife paid a trip there and stayed at Charkhole Kanchan Resort for 3 night 4 days on and from 22nd November 2018 under utmost care of nature and generous behaviour & hospitality of the resorts people with their limited resources at such remote place. Luckily, during those days weather was clear and we experience spellbound sun rise and sun set on the whole Singalila Ridge of the mighty Himalayas.

Charkhole is a isolated place. Our three days stay was faced scarcity of electricity, mobile network and charging batteries. Even added more is the underprepared bumpy roads! But all hazards & problems seems to be trivial on viewing the entire range of Kanchenjunga smiling broadly at us throughout the day! And even during night it was fascinating to see from high above, the Kalimpong town glittering like million pices of Diamond among the dark mountain.

One day we went for sight seeing to Loleygaon Hanging Bridge (canopy), Lava and Rishop. All three are big brothers with their own beauty. But to me Charkhole is the Best.

Charkhole with the Kanchan resort is an ideal place for nature lover, to feel, breath & bow down in front of the Majestic Himalayas.

  4. Worst experience

Worst exerience, the location is nice but…..you walk in the room and it’s a shithole, dirty & unhygenic rooms and bathrooms torn bed sheets, dirty blankets, dirty toilets, very less staff members, tea and other food are served in paper cups and plates overall pathetic experience. Please take rhis property off your website @Nomadic weekends
