Although there are the weekends, it is rarely enough time to go to a faraway natural land and come back in time. The Nomadic Jungle Retreat camp solves this problem and then some. It is a unique property, set up in the South 24 Pgs. District, near Kolkata, which provides a luxurious nature camping destination over the weekend.

The tents have all the modern amenities like TV, separate sitting area, attached bathroom with hot and cold water, etc. These are surrounded by the lush greenery and a large water body. The in-house restaurant offers scrumptious food, and the helpful staffs make the stay memorable.

The property arranges for several physical and outdoor activities inside their campus which are a major attraction for the adrenaline-junkies. Coming here, you can enjoy an out-of-the-ordinary weekend here which will stay in your memory too.

Outdoor Activity:

Water activity:

The two major water-sports here are boating and water–zorbing. In the lake inside the property, you can enjoy the feet-propelled boat which costs INR 200/- for 4 people for 30 minutes. Water zorbing or water walking inside an inflatable ball is an upcoming water-sports which is also arranged here, under proper guideline and precautions. The cost of water-zorbing is INR 150/- per person for 10 minutes.

Adventure sports:

There are several adventure sports and physical sports organised in the property. The list is made up of the trampoline, Rope Climbing, the rope balancing, commando net climbing, dangling rope bridge crossing, balancing on a wooden plank, etc. If you are physically fit or just want to have fun, this is the perfect place for you. These activities along with badminton (charge for shuttlecocks only) are complementary.

Relaxing and birding:

You can relax in the large garden inside the property, sit in the hammocks and watch nature closely. Under the starry sky, you can enjoy the barbecue with advance order. If you are an avid birdwatcher, you can go for a walk to see the local bird species coming from the nearby bird sanctuary.

Ancestral home of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose:

Related to the hero and great national freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, this ancestral house was the witness of many major historical events. Under the state government, renovations works have been done in here.

Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary:

It was once a huge local garden, which achieved the status of a protected area and bird sanctuary. This plot is situated near an urban area but houses many species of endangered birds like hoopoes, black-hooded orioles, and owls, and butterflies. It is a must-visit-area for the nature-lovers.

Science City:

It is a unique science centre and theme park near the property. This is the largest science centre in the entire Indian Subcontinent. Science city is a governmental organisation under the Ministry of Culture. The primary aim of the Science City is the popularisation and propagation of science.

Best Time to Visit:

You can visit the property any time of the year to relax, but the best seasons to visit the place are winter and spring. In the summer, the temperature rises and you cannot enjoy all the adventure attractions. However, you can relax by the lake in the morning and the afternoon. In the monsoon, the green garden and field sooths the eye and heart.

Rail: The nearest rail-station is Sonarpur Jn. It is nearly 13 km which takes around 40 minutes to reach.

Air: The nearest airport is Dumdum or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The property is 32 km away, and it takes around 1 hour to reach.

Road: From Kolkata, the property is approximately 25 km away. It takes around 1 hour to reach. From the Ruby crossing, it is 14 km and takes around 30 minutes to reach.
