Situated near the port town of Falta from the colonial era, this luxurious resort is one of the best weekend destinations from Kolkata. A 50 km long drive from the city, which is a treat by its own self, leads into this well-maintained property in a perfect location, tucked right on the banks of the river Hooghly. Nearby Attractions:
Old port and harbor: Historically the place was always an important one, as the Dutch colonialists landed here and built a harbor for their base. British East India company followed suit and used this port for their trading activities. Various remnants from those colonial days can be still seen here.
Mayapuri Kanan: Here is the garden house of the famous scientist Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose, who discovered that plants have life too.
Parks and Walkways: There are a number of parks and walkways alongside the banks of the river which is properly maintained. A stroll across the road is the best way to enjoy them
SEZ: Falta became the 1st Special Economic Zone in India in 2003, so economically it is very important, and the place can be visited from here.
Raichak and Diamond Harbour: From here, it takes around half an hour to reach Diamond harbor and Raichak. The beautiful view of the river from there during sunset and the Raichak fort is mesmerizing.
Tamluk: The historic town of Tamluk or Tamralipta is only a few hours ride from here. With Archaeological museums, temples, royal family houses, and memorials from the freedom fight movements of India, this place must be visited for those who are interested in the rich historical heritage of Bengal.
Best Time to Visit:
Falta can be visited any time of the year, but the in months of October to March, the weather stays soothing and pleasant. In monsoon, walk alongside the coast of the river can cause a bit of a trouble, so it should be avoided during that time.

Rail: The nearest rail-station is Diamond Harbour. From there it is nearly 21 km which takes around 1 hour to reach.
Air: The nearest airport is Dumdum, or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. From there the distance is 81 km and it takes 2 hours 45 minutes to reach.
Road: From Kolkata, the property is approximately 50 km away and it takes around 2 hours to reach with high traffic in Diamond Harbour road.
