Tinchuley is basically a village in the Takdah district of Darjeeling but a bit away from the main town. It is an offbeat location and not many are aware of its existence. Darjeeling and Ghoom are near to this place but when one reaches this place it will look like it has not been touched by the nearby towns.
It has been able to retain its virgin beauty because as I was told by the owner of the homestay where I had was staying that there are only seventeen houses in entire Tinchuley and not many tourists visit the place because they don’t know or have heard about this place and commercialization has not reached this place.
However, things are Changing fast and Tinchule is fast gaining popularity among travelers for its stunning appeal with great Kanchenjunga view, pine forests, tea plantation, and great weather. The weather here is pleasant and beautiful all over the year. The altitude of the place is around 5,500 ft. it doesn’t get too cold during the winter seasons nor too hot during the summer. The rainy season may observe heavy downpour and lasts between July and September which people usually avoid.
How To Reach
While coming from NJP/Siliguri, you will need to go towards Teesta Bazaar and take a diversion towards Rambi Bazaar, then to a place called 27th mile, then Teesta Valley Tea Estate, Takdah Club, Takdah Bazaar and then to Tinchuley. You can get reserved taxis from NJP, Bagdogra, Siliguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong.
