There are western toilets here that are equipped with geysers, so taking a refreshing bath in the early morning will not be a problem. From the spacious rooms themselves, you can enjoy the majestic view of the snow-capped Kanchenjunga. There are large glass windows that overlook the hills and the verdure valley below. Local experience: There are some nice and solitary trekking trails in and around Kolakham. You can check them out, but for that, you have to take an experienced guide. The local guides have ample knowledge of the routes and safety options. So, if you go out on foot, do take the help from them. You can sit on the property too, and you will love the view from here, with a cup of tea in your hand when you enjoy the beauty of the valley, crowned with the snow-clad peaks of Kanchenjunga.

Changey Waterfall:

It is a beautiful waterfall that is located quite close to our property. There is a short walking trail that leads to the fall. From about 300 meters in height, the water cascades into the pool below. It is an easy hike downwards to reach the falls. You can spend some time here at the falls before you start your upward journey back. However, a good walking shoe with a proper grip is better for the walk.

Rishyap:

It is an offbeat destination near the property. Come here through the pine forests, and you will love the 360-degree mountain view from here.

Neora Valley National Park:

A forest area that is rich in biodiversity, it is an amazing place. The place hosts several beautiful avifaunae and mammal life. It is a birder’s paradise. Also, the elusive red panda sighting can be a big bonus for you. If you trek through the forest, you can enjoy the sights. However, you have to take permission from the forest department for that.

Lava:

Lava will be on the way when you come to Neora Valley. It is a small mountain town, that leads a relaxing lifestyle. There is the Lava monastery, which you should definitely check out. If you are interested in Buddist culture and history, you will definitely love the place.

Rail: The nearest rail station is New Jalpaiguri Jn. From there it is nearly 111 km away which takes 3 hours and 25 minutes to reach by car.

Air: The nearest airport is Bagdogra, 120 km away, and takes a car 3 hours and 50 minutes to reach the place.

Road: From Kolkata, the property is approximately 667 km away and it takes around 17 hours to reach via NH12 or NH19.

Best Time To Visit:

In summer, from June to August, the weather is unprecedented. It rains often but the beauty of the green mountain at this time is unparalleled, although the peaks are under cloud cover at this time. Winter is chilling in December and January, when the temperature may drop below the freezing point. Summer is the popular travel season here, with the weather remaining from moderate to cold at this time.
