Our property in Santiniketan, the Kopai Farm Villa, is away from the busy town, and located in the countryside. While most of the major attractions are a little distance away from here, you can easily access them by car. On the other hand, the place is free from noise and crowd. You can relax and enjoy nature without any disturbance. At the same time, you will get all the comfort and modern amenities you need for a luxurious stay in this home-away-from-home property.

The rooms are well-equipped and air-conditioned, so you can visit the property any time of the year. There are delectable organic foods supplied from the in-house restaurant. The property can organise for a special performing session with local artists if you ask them in advance.

Viswa-Bharati Campus:

It is the primary attraction in Santiniketan. The campus is a heritage site too. There are several sightseeing points in and around it. Here, you will still find classes that are ongoing under the open sky in the Amra Kunja if the weather is fine. Here, the goal is getting in touch with nature. Also, check out the Tagore museum when you come here. It contains manuscripts of Tagore’s original works and paintings, copy of his Nobel medallions etc. Then, there are points like Upasanaghar and Chatimtala, which are places for meditation and worship.

Sonajhuri Haat:

It is a unique market, that traditionally takes place every Saturday in Khoai. Here, various handicraft items are sold at a bargain price. Browse through the items and you will end up buying to your heart’s content.

Kankalitala:

About 10 km away from the property, it is one of the major Hindu temples. It is a Shaktipith too.

Bakreswar:

This is a famous pilgrimage dedicated to Lord Shiva, on the bank of river Bakreswar, 45 km away from Bolpur. This place has a number of hot springs with mineral-rich water.

How to Reach Kopai:

Rail: The nearest rail-station is Bolpur-Shantiniketan. From there it is nearly 12.3 km which takes around 30 minutes to reach by car

Air: The nearest airport is Dumdum, or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. From there the distance is 175 km and it takes 4 hours 30 minutes to reach by car from there.

Road: From Kolkata, the property is approximately 174 km away and it takes around 5 hours 10 minutes to reach by NH19.

Best Time to Visit:

Winter is the best time to visit here. It is the time of Poush Mela which brings a huge crowd. In Spring, it is the time of Dol-yatra and Basanta Utsab. With the festival of colour, the place prepared to welcome the new year. Its better to avoid Summer, as it is extreme hot in Bankura. However, the afternoon storm or Kalbaishakhi offers some break from the perspiring heat. The monsoon beauty, with greenery all around is enchanting.
