Outdoor Activity at Lamthang Eco Village Resort:

The property is located in a remote corner of Pelling. Tucked in the lap of nature, there are several trekking routes in which you may embark upon for a while. However, if you are planning to go on a longer journey, do take the help of a local experienced guide. Else, walk around the place as the magnificent view of Kanchenjunga will accompany you on a clear day. Also, at night, the property can arrange for a bonfire if requested well in advance.

Rabdentse Ruins: The Rabdentse ruins is a major part of the history of Sikkim, which is around 5 km away from here. It was the second capital of the kings of Sikkim from 1670 to 1814. An invading Gurkha army destroyed the place and capital. Only the ruins of the palace and the Chortens still stand to bear witness.

Varsey: At a distance of 64 km, Varsey is a Rhododendron sanctuary and wildlife habitat. It lies just by the Indo-Nepal border. Here, you can have a chance to see leopards, wild boars and red pandas along with birds. A wide Kanchenjunga range can be seen from here too.

Changey waterfalls: Changey Waterfall is 10 km away from the property. At a height of about 300 metres, Changey Waterfall is an undisturbed sight. The falls looks like a white thread as it appears from the green forest and towering hills. Dentam Bazaar near it is a good shopping spot.

How to Reach Lamthang, Pelling:

Rail: The nearest rail station is New Jalpaiguri Jn. From there it is 132 km away which takes around 4 hours and 50 minutes to reach by car. You can also take a jeep in share but that takes more time

Air: The nearest major airport is Bagdogra Airport, 142 km away and takes a car 5 hours 10 minutes to reach the place via Kalimpong. If you travel by Pakyong, it takes around 4 hours to cover 113 km.

Road: From Kolkata, the property is approximately 695 km away and it takes around 17 hours to reach by NH 14.

Best Time to Visit:

Pelling can be visited around the year. However, in the monsoon, the road condition worsens with landslides. In winter, the mercury goes down but the weather remains mostly clear. You can enjoy great mountain views at this time. In summer, the weather is pleasant and you can easily travel to the local attractions at that time.
