Ahmedabad to Darjeeling: Through Air:
There is no airport in proper Darjeeling. The nearest airport is in Bagdogra (Airport code: IXB), which is 67.5 km from Darjeeling, and it takes around 3 hours to reach by car from the airport. There are a number of flights that connect Bagdogra to Ahmedabad, as it received the status of a major airport recently.
The average fare ranges between INR 6,900 to INR 7,900 per person, and a flight with one stop in Kolkata International Airport (Airport code: CCU) takes around 8-9 hours to reach Bagdogra. Ahmedabad to Darjeeling: Through Train:
There is no major rail-station in Darjeeling with direct rail connectivity with Ahmedabad.
However, you can take a train to New Jalpaiguri, which is a major station, and then take a car to reach Darjeeling in 4-5 hours. The road is beautiful, with an amazing mountain experience.
If you want a very unique experience and have time, opt for the Darjeeling-Himalayan railway that is the UNESCO-World heritage site from New Jalpaiguri Jn. to Darjeeling (Starts at 08:30 from NJP station and reached Darjeeling at 15:35 every day.)

Ahmedabad to Darjeeling: Through Road:
As there are not many flight or train options, you may try to take a car to cover the great distance, as it can make for a great journey, while making you aware of the heritage of India. The routes consist of NH-27, NH-48 and Agra-Lucknow Expressway. There are three major routes.
Route 1 covers 2213 km and it takes 39 hours to reach Darjeeling. The road passes through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to reach West Bengal. The night stay options are in Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, and Siliguri respectively.
Route 2 is about 2184 km and Route 3 covers 2142 km and both of them take 39 hours to reach Darjeeling. This route passes by Udaipur and joins Route 1 after Jaipur. Route 3 goes through Chittorgarh, Kanpur etc. and joins Route 1 after Lucknow. In these cases, the night stay options are in Udaipur and Kanpur respectively.
